The 1999 Poker Run was held on a beautiful day, however once
out of the inner harbour, the waves started getting a little bigger, with some
5-6 footers to contend with on the longer segments. Many smaller boats and cats
dropped out, several boats were damaged or experienced mechanical breakdowns
because of the rough water. Likely from driving faster than the boat should have
been going for the given water conditions :o) The bigger V hulls did the best,
none of the cats hit the open water!
